- Course Project This course starts on a 16″ x 20″ canvas all materials and supplies are included
- Getting started and canvas preperation Lightly apply a thin base coat (sky color, earthy tone, or neutral gray).
- Key Elements & Principles of Composition Creating a good and clear composition is so important we show you how in three steps
- Building your sketch skills with wildlife Lightly draw the basic shapes (head, body, eyes).
- Block in background Paint the background first using larger brushes
- Paint base colors of the animal Fill in the main colors (fur, feathers, skin).
- Build layers and texture Add darker tones for shadows and lighter colors for highlights
- Add details Paint eyes, nose, whiskers, patterns, and fine fur.
- Final highlights Add small highlights (especially in the eyes).
